School description

Artificial Intelligence increasingly shapes scientific practices, institutional decision-making, legal frameworks, and social and political processes. Correspondingly, the question of how AI systems should be governed has become a central research challenge cutting across traditional disciplinary boundaries.

Research on AI governance is currently pursued from several perspectives, including ethics and epistemology of AI, philosophy of technology, sociology of technology, law and regulation, public policy, and formal and computational methods. Each of these fields provides important conceptual and methodological resources, but effective approaches to governing AI require sustained dialogue across them.

The Governance of AI School brings together leading scholars and PhD students to investigate the conceptual, normative, institutional, legal, social, and technical dimensions of AI governance. Its central objective is to create a common interdisciplinary environment in which different approaches to AI governance can be presented, compared, and discussed.
